It sure was great to get out of town for a weekend...AND get to bowl in a tournament.....bitter sweet on the scores......team event was excellent...only 3 open frames in the entire series....and they all came in my 2nd game...still shot a 201...first game was 224....last was 242...a 667 series....my singles wasnt bad...not great by any strech....557....just could'nt string many together....and my doubles totally sucked....510 series...all in all i bowled at a 194 average for the weekend.....i'll take that....not bad for my 2nd state tourney....even made about 100 bucks in the side pots...lol  Well anyways as far as handicap division goes...i scored over 2000 in my 2nd state tourney (including handicap) in the all events category.  And i did buy a ball there....a Columbia Action Packed...i like it alot....man it rolls nice...tons of backend.....i can see some good scores coming off that ball...Anyways.....barring any rogue tournaments...this will be about it till later in the year...and i still didnt get my first 700.....i guess thats what next year is for...lol

Well...the last halfof this season sure hasnt turned out like i had hoped...consistancy was non exsistant...it was a blur of missed spares and missed opportunity.the highest of highs....the lowest of lows. All  in all it was fun...i guess im way to competitive for my own good. The one lesson i did learn from this year was...pick your teams carefully...and don't jump on a losing team thinking you can turn it around....no man can do that, virtually impossible. The one bright spot is the mixed league my wife and I bowl on....in that league im 12 pins over last years average....175-187...baring a total melt down in the last week of that. And the other positive is that we met Ken and Amy....and their partners Josh and Becky....really fun to bowl with and around....i only wish that more teams on that leage were like that...but there are a couple others like them...we are grateful for that.  Also to see Josh and Ken bowl like they have been gives me inspiration to do better....My average may be higher than Josh's....but he's finishing like a mad man...im happy for him....hope he nails a 700 this last week....oh ok.....hope Ken gets one too!...lol  I'm sure i'll update with the results of this Sunday....hope it's HAPPY results for us all!  We may not be back next year at the Parkway league...but i'm sure we'll see you guys somewhere down the road!

Well...here goes again....another up and down week...thank god more up's than downs Thursday nite's league was alot of fun...we took 3 of 4...and i actually backed up my 643 series on Sunday....shot a 619....could have ended up better...buy ya know how that goes. Friday nite's league started out just great..and got better before the FALL...and i do mean F A L L..lol  Shot a 210 even thought i left a split on my first ball in the 10th.....the 2nd game was marvelous....i couldnt do anything wrong....after strike/spare/strike/spare...i totally struck out...i mean the WHOLE GAME...LOL, 8 in a row...for a 268 game....after that im thinking....700 series...of which i've never had one...lot's of 600's...just havent broken that wall yet...I hope i do before the year is out...anyways.....instead of getting a 700...i didnt even get a 600...shot a 117.....you beleive that?....a freakin 117....i was ready to throw a belt over the shower curtain....after that 2nd game i really felt i couldnt do anything wrong......turns out..i couldnt do anything right,,,,,first 3 frames were open...first 2 were 10 pins...totally missed those , then it was just one thing after the other.....7 pins...5 pins...8 pins....and out of all 10 frames...i beleive i only threw one ball out of the pocket...well..i guess thats how it goes.  One good thing is....i do have a few weeks on the 2 mens league left to get my 700....and about 6 weeks left on our mixed league..ill keep ya'll posted.....wish me luck!

Well....time to attempt another blog.  My wife and I bowl together on the sunday night mixed...with another bowlspace guy that i really enjoy bowling around and against..., (you know who ya are), He's a pretty good bowler...and him and his wife are some nice folks, oh ya...Josh is cool too...lol....when you get into mixed leagues theres some real creatins...lol It's nice to meet cool people that you really enjoy bowling with and against. As a team we cant seem to make up any ground...one week we will take all 4 points..then the next week everyone takes a break we are a middle of the road team..and i keep telling them that if we actually bowl the rest of the year we can at least make some noise....and make them remember us. Personally....i had been bowling pretty much like crap...lol average had dropped to 186...when my goal was to get it up to 190 before the end of the year..which is actually still a realistic goal....even with 6 weeks left. Last sunday i bowled pretty well....236-216 and 191....for a 643 series..which actually brought me back to 188....so the quest for 190 is still alive.....and i know to some of you 200 plus average bowlers you think thats not much......but try accomplishing it in under 3 years....then come talk to me.....

Well....wife and I bowled the local city association tournament double/singles today.....wife did great.....myself...nahhhhhhhhhh....just couldn't get a damned roll going...started my singles out with a turkey in the first 2 games...went downhill from there.  I was still sparing..had clean games in both going till the 7th....left splits....almost picked one up which would have saved me...but after 3 splits in a row i lost my will to live...lol The doubles was better for both of us...again...wife did excellent....i ended up 192, 190 and a freakin 168!  didnt even get my average!  But thank god for the wifes handicap...we finished 17th...it's in the money....just not the kind we were hoping for....Oh well.....just like the CUBS...can't wait for next year!
